Case Study — Gay Dating & Hookup · NDA

53 million organic visits. Six months. Zero ad spend.

The client is one of the three largest gay hookup platforms on earth — dominant in Europe, present on every continent, and contractually anonymous. Their name stays under NDA, as it does for every client. The numbers don't need it.

02 — The Situation

A giant the ad networks won't touch

Gay hookup is one of the most search-driven verticals in the adult industry: intent is immediate, local, and overwhelmingly mobile — 93% of this platform's organic clicks arrive on a phone. It is also a vertical with no paid safety net. Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and every mainstream network exclude it, so organic search is not one channel among many. It is the acquisition engine.

At this scale the problems stop being "rank for a keyword" and become governance: brand demand in the hundreds of thousands of queries a day, thousands of misspelled brand variants users invent on small keyboards, a dozen locales and language versions that must not cannibalize each other, SafeSearch filters that can silently suppress a whole market, and regulators on three continents rewriting age-verification rules underneath the platform.

That is the environment this program runs in. Here is what the data says about it.

03 — What The Data Shows

Three layers of dominance

1 · The brand moat is total

91.6% of all organic clicks — 48.6 million of them — arrive on brand-name queries, at an average position of 1.0. Not just the correct spelling: users type this brand thousands of different wrong ways, and every one of those misspellings resolves to the platform at position 1. That is not an accident of fame. It is engineered: brand SERP defense, typo capture, entity reinforcement in the knowledge graph, and a first results page so controlled that no clone, affiliate or phishing lookalike survives above the fold. In a vertical where copycat sites skim brand traffic for a living, the moat is the product.

2 · The international architecture carries the load

The export shows organic clicks from 239 countries and regions. France alone delivers 59% of clicks — 31.5 million — with Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, the US and the UK following, each landing on its own locale version at an average position between 1.4 and 3.0. Locale folders, hreflang governance and per-market content keep every user on the version that converts for their language — and keep Google from deduplicating the platform's own pages against each other. Six locale clusters share one authority graph instead of competing for it.

3 · The discovery layer compounds on top

Brand dominance alone would be a ceiling, not a trend line. The growth in the chart comes from the generic layer: category queries — "gay hookup" terms in French, Spanish and English — ranking at positions 1.0 to 2.5 against every competitor in the niche, plus city-level landing coverage that intercepts local intent before it reaches a directory. This is the same city-template system we run for dating platforms at one-hundredth the scale. At this altitude it produces tens of thousands of incremental visits a day — and it is why the 7-day average ends the period 70K visits higher than it began.

04 — The Program

What we run at this altitude

Brand SERP defense and typo capture. Continuous monitoring of the brand query universe — every variant, every market — with entity signals that teach Google the one canonical answer, and takedown-grade pressure on lookalikes that try to skim it.

International SEO governance. hreflang integrity across all locales, per-market query architecture (localized, not translated), and release-level checks so no template change in one market leaks into another's rankings.

Mobile performance as a ranking asset. With 93% of clicks on phones, Core Web Vitals on mid-range Android are the real ranking battlefield. The platform's mobile experience is engineered and monitored as a first-class SEO surface.

SafeSearch and compliance hygiene. Content classification, age-assurance flows and labeling kept inside the lines drawn by the UK Online Safety Act, EU DSA and US state laws — so visibility survives regulation instead of discovering it.

Discovery-layer content systems. The city-template and category programs that turn local and generic intent into landings the platform owns — the compounding layer visible in the chart's second half.

AI-answer visibility. Entity and structured-data work that keeps the brand the cited answer when users ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini where to find what it offers — the next moat, built before competitors notice it matters.

05 — Questions

The ones everyone asks

NDA — the same one every client gets. Operating a top-3 platform in this niche means competitors, regulators and payment partners all watch what you publish. We never reveal client names, domains or identifying details without written permission. What we can show is the data, anonymized to the last query string.

The scale isn't — the system is. Brand SERP defense, locale architecture, mobile performance, city-template discovery and compliance hygiene are exactly the programs we run for mid-size dating and hookup platforms. The compounding curve in the chart is what those systems look like after they mature.

Every figure on this page is from the client's own Google Search Console export (web search, last 6 months, pulled July 2026): 53,095,419 clicks, 62,472,039 impressions, 85% average CTR, 1.8 average position, across 239 countries and regions.
